Program Details/Overview
The Amy Young Barrier Removal (AYBR) Program provides one-time grants of up to $22,500 for qualified households with Persons with Disabilities who need modifications to increase accessibility and eliminate hazardous conditions in their home.
The AYBR Program is funded through the State Housing Trust Fund, a biennial State authorized allocation. The biennial plan can be found here.

Programs
TDHCA contracts with nonprofit organizations and local governments to administer the AYBR Program. Applicants must be familiar with Program rules and Regulations. Applications for participation in the Reservation System are accepted on an on-going, year-round basis.
This link is intended for Subrecipients with an active AYBR Reservation Agreement.
AYBR assists Person with Disabilities, with a household income that does not exceed 80% of the Area Median Family Income (AMFI) and may be tenants or homeowners.
The AYBR program is not available in all areas of Texas. If you are a household or individual looking for assistance with Accessibility modification, please visit our Help For Texans page.
